Default Rant about assasins... What?

I just don't get it.
Alot of people start complaining about assasins dieng fast and other things like that. And sicerly i just dont get it.

I never expected an assasin to be a "zomg zomg uber tank wahhhhhh... i killerz them all monsters and goez farm solo cuz i am invincible". Most people should realise that an assasin sint that good "1 vs Many" in close combat back on the starter island.

Did anyone read the stats on the armor? LVL 70, as a ranger. So those who play assasin should open their eyes and read the stats on the armor in the first place. I never see rangers (same base armor lvl) ninja into the huge mobs and succeed. If it would be the case for assasins to tank, then assins wouldn't have the shadow arts skills, like shadow step, vipers defenses, etc...
Just think about it and you`ll realise why shadow arts is an assasin attribute, beside toher things.

Now, someone said assasin + henchies = nightmare. What? So people still don't get the point in how to play the class. Assasin + henchies should teach you many things, what to do and what not to do.

What I think is that many ex whammos switched to assasin, grabed henchies, ran as they could till the first mob leaving henchies miles back, attacked someone in the back line of a mob (like ritalists, mesmer, etc), got wiped, than came here and started whining about the class.

I finished factions in 4 days with my assasin, most quests with henchies and i had no problems at all. Also in the missions i teamed up with other assasins cuz of the lack of real people back then. Some of the last missions require real people and other calsses because of the difficulty lvl (ex: imperial sanctum - finished in 2 min 20 sec with 2 assains on the team), so having a necro, mesmer or ranger tag along is a very good idea.

Oh, and i also went solo farming with my assasin, how about that? As an assasin/mesmer just in case you wondered. There are combos of 5 skills that can make up to 400-450 damage and recharge is like 10-12 at most. The rest can be self defense/heal, evade and shadow step to target things.

The new system should make people more aware of the skills they use. Each time you buy a skill you can/must choose carefully on what you spend your skill points/money. I saw people near the last missions saying that they dont have XXX skill wich i think would be a basic skill to have for many situations/quests along the road. But hey, it's a free world, you play as you wish, no1 can and should tell you what and how to do since you got the game with your own money .

So YES, there are real bad, bad, decent, good, very good and excellent players out there, in equal proportions. the difficulty lelvel of Faction missions/quests will let you know if you have a bad player on your team right at the first fight with a decent mob.

I see the whiners (those who complain about assasin class being useless, impossible to play) just as the people who brag about THK being uterly hard. I have friends who finished THK with their whammo (of course not paladin build, but whatever) in starter armor with 7 henchies.

IMO people just can't read, cant think or have no imagination. Assasin is a great class if you learn how to play it.

Edit:
---------------------------------------------
Let's not forget those who are trying to convince themselfs not to make an assasin because X and Y reasons and are happy to point out some extremly casual players who didn't get familiar with the class, yet!

Peace.

yep quite true, it just sucks that all the wammos decided to become assasins and give us good ones a bad name.

Although i said it, I dont blame whammos for this as a class (w/mo), I'm just talking about the kamikaze mentality.

An assassin is not a ranged fighter. The escape skills are ineffective in a great many situations. They must tank but lack sensible defenses for what they do - tank.

I have seen a tremendous number of mana-sink rangers tank. Speaking from my monk's memory. And again, the shadow skills are only partly effective. Many physical/blocking mechanism exist to make them inefficient. (Not that I want to magic into a rock wall and get stuck so I have to reboot to continue playing, but hey it's amusing right?)

All of the classes have their good-points and bad points. The zin has the difficulty of being a tank in damage dealing capacity and not in any other way. Playability by a some, who could qualify as gold medalists at video gaming, does not support the averge Jane/Joe-grab-a-sixpack player.

In a game which allows people to express their alter-egos in an adventure capacity, their is some obligation to meet that unconscious expectation in every class and class combination. otherwise it is not entertainment it is work. Who wants to spend 8-12 hours working at work/school to then have to spend 2-6 hours working at a game? (No one without a need for counselling.)

Its all about the right people playing the profession....lets not wait for the warrior to get the aggro...lets just go in and attack without the tank there.

Assassins are cool professions but they have to played properly. Thats the catch play the profession right and have fun doing it.

Actually, in PvE I have seen rangers tank rather well in melee (They don't work in areas with lots of wild blow however), they're called evasion tanks. Unfortunatly, sins lack the ability to maintain a constant 75% evasion like a ranger can. They also lack the large armor vs elemental boost as well.

Sins are evasion tanks with expanded offernsive abilities and improved mobility, minus the evasion and armor vs ele that would normally keep an evasion tank from being ripped to shreds.
